Celebrating 70 Years. Of Austrian decent, the Gilg family settled in Mittelbergheim in 1601. At the foot of Mount Ste. Odile (the highest peak in Alsace), this beautiful village is surrounded by vineyards. The contemporary family’s wine interests were realized in the 1940s when cultivation of 2.2 hectares began. Focusing their efforts, the family now oversees 22 hectares with 6.5 hectares of Grand Cru growth – Grand Cru Moenchberg and Grand Cru Zotzenberg.
